LEGAZPI CITY — A pedestrian died while a motorcycle rider was injured in a road accident Tuesday in Tigaon town in Camarines Sur.

Tigaon police said in a report Wednesday, July 31, that Romeo Cano, 76, was crossing the road when he was accidentally hit by the motorcycle driven by Rommel Moresca, 37, in Barangay Mabalodbalod at 7:25 p.m.

They suffered injuries but Cano was declared dead in the hospital. The driver was undergoing treatment.

Also on Tuesday, a 21-year-old man’s legs were amputated after being hit by the Philippine National Railways (PNR) train in Legazpi City, Albay.

Chief Master Sergeant Henry Mirafuentes, the city police investigator, said in a report that while Raymond Esquivel, a resident of Barangay Bitano, was resting at the railroad in front of their house at 4:53 a.m., the train ran over him accidentally.

The initial report said the train was traveling from the PNR station in Barangay Peñaranda to Naga City.
