Marikina fire kills senior, injures two others
MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out in a three-story residential building in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City, and killed a 66-year-old male and injured two other individuals, the Bureau of Fire Protection – National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) reported on Friday.
The fire, which originated in the kitchen on the ground floor of the building, was put under the first alarm at 2:50 a.m.
It was declared under control at 3:29 a.m. and extinguished at 3:55 a.m.

The BFP-NCR identified the fatality as Vidal Garcia, 66 years old.
Article continues after this advertisementA firefighter, FO2 Bernardino Cruz, inhaled some smoke but was already in good condition as of this writing. Cris Garcia suffered from second-degree burns on the face and upper back.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
