The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s forecast for July 22 indicated that parts of Cagayan and Isabela are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 due to Severe Tropical Storm Carina (international name: Gaemi).

The state weather agency also said Carina is expected to reach the typhoon category by early Tuesday morning and “is forecast to steadily intensify over the next four days due to a favorable environment.”

Combined movements of Carina and enhanced southwest monsoon are expected to bring rainfall over many parts of the country for the next two to three days.
