Pagasa forecasts light to moderate rains in Western Visayas

MANILA, Philippines — Light to moderate rains are expected in parts of Western Visayas on Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In an advisory issued at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, the state weather service warned the public that “light to moderate with at times heavy” will be experienced in the following areas:

Antique (coastal barangays of Tobias Fornier, portion of Anini-Y, Culasi, Caluya, Libertad, Sebaste, Pandan)

Iloilo (mountain barangays of Alimodian, mountain barangays of Maasin, a portion of San Miguel, a portion of Santa Barbara, a portion of Cabatuan, the western portion of Lambunao, coastal barangays of Barotac Nuevo, New Lucena, Pototan, Mina, Badiangan, Calinog, the western portion of Janiuay, the western portion of Duenas);

Guimaras (San Lorenzo);

Aklan (Buruanga, Libacao, Madalag, Malinao, Malay, Nabas, Ibajay, Tangalan, Makato, Lezo, Numancia, Banga, portion of Balete);

Negros Occidental (a portion of Bacolod City, a portion of Talisay City, a portion of Bago City, coastal barangays of Pulupandan, coastal barangays of Valladolid, Silay City, Enrique B. Magalona);

At the moment, Pagasa said the following areas are experiencing rain:

Antique (Laua-An, Barbaza, Tibiao, Bugasong, mountain barangays of Valderrama, San Remigio, portion of Patnongon, coastal barangays of San Jose, Belison, Sibalom and Hamtic);

Iloilo (mountain barangays of Miagao, San Joaquin, Igbaras, portion of Iloilo City, portion of Oton, portion of Tigbauan, portion of Guimbal, portion of Leganes, portion of Pavia, mountain barangays of Tubungan, Leon, coastal barangays of Dumangas and portion of Zarraga);

Guimaras (Nueva Valencia, Jordan, Sibunag and Buenavista)

Pagasa said rains may persist for two to three hours in these places.
