BAGUIO CITY — A hand grenade ripped through the residential compound of the municipal administrator of La Paz town, Abra, early Thursday, according to authorities.

Investigators said no injuries were reported from the explosion that struck the place of La Paz administrator Perfecto “Pope” Bolos Cardenas on Rizal Street, Zone 6, Bangued, Abra, around 2 a.m.

The Abra Provincial Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit recovered a safety lever and pin from an unidentified hand grenade at the scene.

According to Bangued Municipal Chief of Police Major Paul Claveria, they are reviewing surveillance camera footage to identify the suspects.

He noted that they have not yet established strong evidence to confirm that the incident was carried out by culprits on a motorcycle. INQ
