MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to validate around 580 hectares of land in Carmen, North Cotabato, with a plan to have it distributed to 218 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the province.

The land validation will be conducted under the Project Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Tilting (SPLIT), a program that involves parcelization of lands and issuance of individual land titles to ARBs previously awarded lands through collective certificates of land ownership award (CCLOA).

The DAR said on its website that the land up for validation covers properties in Malapag, Carmen. DAR officials, ARBs, and stakeholders have held a meeting to discuss the project.

“These ARBs are expected to benefit from the project, giving them an absolute ownership of the lands they are tilling after the Project SPLIT activities are completed and finally award them their land titles,” said Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Evangeline Bueno.
