QCPD files criminals raps vs transport group Manibela execs

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said on Saturday that it filed criminal cases against Samahang Manibela Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon (Manibela) Chairperson Mario Valbuena and Manibela Bulacan/San Fernando, Pampanga president.

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said on Saturday that it filed criminal cases against Samahang Manibela Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon (Manibela) Chairperson Mario Valbuena and Manibela Bulacan/San Fernando, Pampanga president.

According to the QCPD, the cases were in connection with the transport strike done by Manibela from June 10 to 12, to protest the consolidation of jeepneys under the PUV modernization program (PUVMP).

Protesters gathered in front of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s office, the QCPD said.

The QCPD filed cases of alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience, and violation of the Public Assembly Act, against the two.

“Kahapon, Hunyo 14, 2024, isinampa na ang mga kasong paglabag sa B.P.  880 (Public Assembly Act of 1985), Article 155 ng Revised Penal Code (Alarm and Scandals), at Article 151 ng RPC (Resistance and Disobedience) laban kina Valbuena at Manlapig sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office,” it said.
