Police seize right-hand-drive cars

/ 07:02 AM June 30, 2011

AT LEAST 13 right-hand-drive vehicles were seized by police from a warehouse at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City.

No one was arrested when police raided the Sha Japan Surplus Suppliers at the Benedicto Building on De Vera Street, barangay Carreta.

The subjects of the raid—Jin Mata, Shaquel Hussain, a certain Saim and Sonny—were not around when the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Enriquita Belarmino was served by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas.

Supt. Romano Cardino, assistant deputy chief of the CIDG-7, said the vehicles were seized since Philippine laws prohibit the importation of right-hand-drive cars./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
