In a press conference, Zaballero, daughter of the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez, said the family is relieved with the dismissal of Soco’s election protest.

The 20-page decision of the Commission on Election cited “lack of merit” as the reason for the dismissal.

It indicated that Soco will still be defeated by the late vice governor by a margin of 17,089 votes in all the protested precincts. The vice governor succumbed to cancer in April last year. CorrespondentCarmel Loise Matus
