Bakud Party firming up, going province-wide?
The Durano clan’s Bakud Party will announce their political plans by the end of this month.
“By the end of the month, we are ready. More or less, we already have our plans of action,” said Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
Magpale is also elated about the prospect of expanding the Bakud Party from their bailiwick in the 5th district to the whole province.
Magpale said she had agreed with Danao City Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III to wait for Cebu 5th district Rep. Red Durano who is set to return to the country on the 24th of this month.
It’s difficult to make decisions with Congressman Red not around. They (Nito) have talked developments here while abroad. We also have opinions here. It would be better to have a meeting one more time, together before making the announcement,” she told reporters yesterday in an interview.
Nito arrived from the United States last week. Magpale said, they have met twice with the Bakud Party leader to discuss the political situation in the province.

“We never thought of that until there were fillers,” she told reporters.
She refused to divulge who these officials are.
Meanwhile, the vice governor disclosed that Cebu 3rd district Rep. Pablo John Garcia had sent an emissary to arrange their meeting.
Glen Baricuatro, a staff of Representative Garcia, visited her yesterday to explore a possible meeting with the One Cebu Party standard bearer for governor in 2013.
When sought for comment on the reports Glenn Soco is planning to run again for vice governor, Magpale grinned and said: “I’ve read it bitaw” (I have read it too.)
Magpale assumed the vice governor post after former vice governor Gregorio Sanchez succumbed to cancer in April 2011.
Soco, who ran under One Cebu, had just lost his election protest against Sanchez. Carmel Loise Matus, Correspodent
