MANILA, Philippines — Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) chairperson Jesus Ferdinand “Andy” Ortega confirmed on Thursday that he has been appointed as the new undersecretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

“Last Monday, ako po ay nag oath taking na sa harap ni Secretary Bautista at sa pirma po ng Pangulo, ako na po ngayon ‘yung undersecretary ng road transport and infrastructure dito sa DOTr,” Ortega said during a Radyo 630 interview, responding to queries on the veracity of reporters regarding his appointment.

(Last Monday, I took my oath in front of Secretary Bautista, and with the President’s signature, I am now the undersecretary of road transport and infrastructure here at the DOTr.)

However, he added, that a new OTC chief is yet to be named and that because of that, he would still oversee the office even if he is no longer its chairperson.
