LUCENA CITY — A man was killed and his wife was wounded on Wednesday, March 20, after they were shot several times by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Antipolo City, Rizal, police said Thursday.

The Police Region 4A said in a report that Abad Antonius Lazaro and his wife Grace aboard a Honda Jazz sedan stopped at an intersection in Barangay Mayamot around 6 p.m. when the gunmen riding a motorcycle appeared and repeatedly shot them using handguns.

The assailants sped off after the shooting and left Abad dead on the spot. Grace suffered gunshot wounds in her leg and was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The police were conducting further investigation to identify the killer and establish the motive behind the shooting.
