Sunday fire razes Alabang community
A fire tore through a densely populated residential area in Muntinlupa City early Sunday, destroying around 200 homes and displacing hundreds of families, fire officials said.
The blaze erupted at around 4:48 a.m. at a house in the Maria Tigue compound in Barangay Alabang and then spread rapidly throughout the tightly packed neighborhood.
Some 40 fire trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), local governments and volunteer groups responded to the blaze, which was finally brought under control at around 9:06 a.m.
The fire was declared out at 9:42 a.m. No fatalities or injuries were reported, according to the BFP.

Around 200 families, comprising some 400 individuals, were displaced by the fire, which razed an area of about 1,000 square meters, fire officials said.
