Pagasa: Rain to prevail across PH this weekend
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that rain will prevail over the rest of the country throughout the weekend.
“Dahil sa amihan makararanas tayo ng mga kaulapan na may mahihinang pag-ulan dito sa silangang bahagi, o eastern section ng Luzon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil on on Pagasa’s morning weather update on Saturday.
(Because of the northeast monsoon, we will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers in the eastern part, or eastern section, of Luzon.)

“Sa kasalukuyan wala rin tayong binabantayan na low pressure area o sama ng panahon sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility,” Villamil also said.
(Currently, we are not monitoring any low-pressure area or weather disturbance inside or outside our Philippine area of responsibility.)
Caraga, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will have overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean, Pagasa said.
The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the combined effects of easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in areas that will be rained on by easterlies.
No gale warning alert is raised in any part of the archipelago’s seaboards.
Meanwhile, based on Pagasa’s weather outlook for Sunday, March 10, the shear line will likely bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Quezon Province.
It added that Cagayan Valley, CAR, and Aurora will still be cloudy with light rains, while Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon will have isolated light rains, all due to amihan.
