Pagasa: Easterlies to bring scattered rain showers to PH

MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies will bring isolated rain showers over parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, even amid relatively hot and humid temperatures, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa, the easterlies refer to the warm winds coming from the direction of the Pacific Ocean.

“Dito nga sa Luzon makikita natin na ang malaking bahagi ng Luzon ay makararanas ng mga isolated rain showers at thunderstorms at medyo mainit pa rin na tanghali,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina.

“Dito nga sa Luzon makikita natin na ang malaking bahagi ng Luzon ay makararanas ng mga isolated rain showers at thunderstorms at medyo mainit pa rin na tanghali,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina.

(Here in Luzon, we will observe that a significant portion of Luzon will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, with the midday remaining hot.)

“Sa bahagi ng Kabisayaan naman inaasahan pa rin ang pulopulong pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog,” he added.

(In the Visayas region, scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunder are still expected.)

On the other hand, generally, fair weather conditions can be expected over Mindanao, but Badrina said isolated rain showers are still possible.

Badrina said Pagasa is currently not monitoring any storms or low-pressure areas, adding that there is a low probability of their formation within the Philippine area of responsibility for the rest of the week.

  • Metro Manila: 23 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 16 to 26 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 23 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 20 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Meanwhile, no gale warning is currently raised over the country’s seaboards, with only light to moderate wave conditions expected in the Philippines’ surrounding coasts and in-land seas.
