LTO holds service outreach program in Marikina

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) conducted a service outreach program in Marikina City on Saturday for various vehicle services.

Included in the services were the issuance of student permits, renewals of driving licenses and motor vehicle registration, and free medical services.

“This is part of the instruction of President Bongbong Marcos and [Department of Transportation] Secretary Jaime J. Bautista to bring the government services closer to the people under the Bagong Pilipinas program,” LTO Assistant Secretary Mendoza said.

Mendoza added that bringing the services to the people would put a stop to the use of “fixers.”

“Ito rin ang sagot ng inyong LTO upang tuluyang tuldukan ang mga maling gawain ng fixers na nagpapasama sa imahe ng aming ahensya,” he said.

(This is the LTO’s answer to stop the wrongdoings of fixers that deteriorate the agency’s image.)

“Through this outreach program, we are going directly to the communities to serve the people who are too busy, or have their own personal reasons why they could not immediately go to our offices,” he added.

Mendoza likewise said that its services in the outreach program will be fast and convenient, not marred by long wait times.

“We would like to inform the public that this is no longer the case now.  The transactions are fast and comfortable and the outreach program that we are conducting will also serve as proof to this,” Mendoza continued.
