Rider killed as truck carrier rams motorcycle in Isabela

TUMAUINI, ISABELA — A 47-year-old rider died instantly after his motorcycle was rammed by a truck carrier along the national road in this town on Saturday, Feb. 18, police report said.

Police Capt. Scarlette Topinio, Isabela police spokesperson, said the victim Ernesto Aranda Jr., 47, a native of Quirino town in Isabela, died on the spot after the truck carrier, driven by Junkey Buquinkito of Valencia, Negros Oriental, hit his motorcycle in Barangay (village) Minanga before noon.

Probers said Aranda’s motorcycle swerved to the lane of the truck as they met head-on along the road.

Aranda was thrown off and died instantly due to head and body injuries.
