LTO reports 3,510 apprehensions in Metro Manila
The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) on Friday said it apprehended a total of 3,510 motorists in January for violating various traffic rules and regulations. According to LTO-NCR data, 1,860 of the 3,510 motorists were apprehended for various violations of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code. The number includes 311 unregistered motor vehicles. During the same period, 1,097 motorists were apprehended for not using seat belt devices, 535 for failing to wear the standard protective motorcycle helmet, three for violations of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, 14 for violating the children’s safety on motorcycle law, and one for driving under the influence of prohibited drugs. —JEROME ANING
