MANILA, Philippines—Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said Wednesday she would “obey” the Senate and testify at the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona.

“I will obey the Senate,” Morales told reporters during the indignation rally against corruption when asked about the possibility of appearing before the Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, to shed light on her office’s investigation into Corona’s alleged $10 million deposit.

Earlier on Wednesday, Enrile said he has ordered the issuance of subpoenas to Morales and complainants Akbayan Partylist Representative Walden Bello, former Congresswoman Risa Hontiveros, Emmanuel Santos, and Harvey Keh.
