Enforce trike ban on nat’l roads, LGUs asked

Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos on Tuesday reminded local government units (LGUs) to strictly enforce the ban on tricycles and pedicabs on main thoroughfares following a road accident in Camarines Norte.

“It is unfortunate that many LGUs have not been strictly implementing such regulations which often result in traffic congestion and accidents,” he said in a statement.

On Feb. 4, a tricycle was hit by a passenger bus on the national highway in Camarines Norte but there were no additional details about deaths or injuries.
