Suspected NPA rebel killed in Camarines Sur clash

LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebel was killed in an encounter in Presentacion, Camarines Sur early Friday.

Police Brig. Gen. Andre Perez Dizon, Bicol regional police director, identified the fatality as Wilmer Señar, alias “Lucky,” an alleged member of Platoon 2 of Komiteng Larangan Gerilya 1, Sub Regional Committee 2.

Dizon said when the members of 83rd Infantry Batallion of the Philippine Army were conducting an intelligence operation, they had a chance encounter with the rebels in Barangay Lidong at 10:50 a.m.
