Butuan airport employee returns misplaced bag with US$4,000
MANILA, Philippines — The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) under the Department of Transportation said on Wednesday that one of its employees stationed at the Butuan Airport returned a bag which contained cash and valuables left by a passenger on Monday.
According to the OTS, the bag contained US$ 4,000, which was around P223,000, as well as some articles of jewelry, was left in the x-ray machine and may have been forgotten by the passenger during the screening process.
Griffel Vien Salaum, the security screening officer, discovered the bag, then coordinated with airport authorities.
The owner of the bag then approached the screening checkpoint, where she recovered her bag and thanked Salaum and the other screening officers.
“Ipinapakita lang po dito ng aming mga personnel ‘yung aming itinuturo sa kanila during training, at yung values formation na dapat i-maintain, ito ‘yung katapatan nila at sincerity to serve and assist passengers. ” OTS Assistant Secretary Jose Briones Jr. said.
