DepEd condemns attack on Sultan Kudarat official
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday called for a quick response from law enforcement authorities after one of its personnel was targeted in a shooting incident in Sultan Kudarat.
On Monday, gunmen shot DepEd supervisor Eric Balancio and his wife in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
“The Department of Education strongly condemns the shooting incident in Isulan Central School, Sultan Kudarat on Monday, January 8, that targeted an Education Program Supervisor of the province,” said the DepEd in an X post.
“DepEd implores our law enforcement authorities to swiftly investigate this matter and ensure that the perpetrators are promptly brought to justice,” it added.
While the DepEd was relieved that Balancio is safe, it said it deplored such acts against it’s dedicated personnel.
