Vendors affected by Edsa Greenways project receive livelihood aid

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Friday announced the distribution of livelihood packages to least 148 residents and vendors who will be affected by the EDSA Greenways Project.

The livelihood package consists of P30,000 worth of rice, dressmaking package and food packages as a start-up for small eateries and “negosyo” carts.

“Hindi lang nagbibigay ng trabaho ang mga projects namin, ngayon naman magbibigay ang Labor Department ng kabuhayan sa mga pamilyang madadaanan ng EDSA Greenways,” said Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.

The EDSA Greenways project will upgrade  pedestrian walkways in Balintawak, Cubao, Guadalupe, and Taft.
