Chavez appointed as Presidential Assistant for strategic communications
MANILA, Philippines — Transport Undersecretary Cesar Bermejo Chavez has been appointed as a Presidential Assistant for Strategic Communications.
“Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed Presidential Assistant for Strategic Communications with the rank of Undersecretary, Office of the President,” President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. told Chavez in a letter released to media on Wednesday.
Chavez served as a news anchor and station manager for DZRH before working in the Department of Transportation.
In 2017, Chavez resigned as Transport Undersecretary following technical glitches that affected the Metro Rail Transit 3.
Under Marcos’s term, Chavez, in 2022, admitted that he was among those being considered to assume the post of press secretary after Trixie Cruz-Angeles stepped down due to health reasons.
