QCPD: Man who jumped off railing of Meralco Avenue flyover survives
MANILA, Philippines — The man who went viral after jumping off the railing of Meralco Avenue Flyover in Quezon City, survived, local authorities said on Sunday.
The incident happened at 5:22 p.m. on Saturday and the person involved was identified as 26-year-old John Mark Santos Aquino, who is a resident of Purok Uno, Barangay Rizal, Naguilian, Isabela, the Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) said.
He was an overseas Filipino worker and currently works as a security guard.
Aquino hit a motorcycle upon landing along Ortigas Avenue Flyover, causing damage to the vehicle while its driver and passenger fell to the ground.
He sustained multiple injuries to different parts of his body, and was brought to Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Medical responding team.

Article continues after this advertisementHe was transferred to Mandaluyong City Medical Center at around 6:30 p.m. for medical treatment, QCPD said.

Local authorities said that Aquino was subsequently transferred to the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City one hour later for mental evaluation.
Meanwhile, the owner of the vehicle where Aquino landed decided to take responsibility for the repair of his motorcycle and will not file a criminal complaint against Aquino.
