MANILA, Philippines  — The construction worker facing several court cases who jumped from third floor of Manila City Hall on Wednesday died several hours later, Manila Police District (MPD) spokesperson Major Philipp Ines said on Thursday.

“He died last night, 7:43 pm, July 12,” Ines told in a text message.

The 33-year-old man was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital after the incident.

He underwent an inquest proceeding Wednesday morning when he suddenly “jumped from a window on the 3rd floor of the Manila City Hall as he was being escorted back to the Police Station where he is detained,” according to Citty of Manila  spokesperson Princess Abante.

Police said the construction worker was facing complaints of violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Article 155 (alarm and scandals) and Article 285 (other light threats) of the Revised Penal Code, and for physical injury.
