Mother and son die in residential fire in Parañaque
MANILA, Philippines — A mother and a son died in a midnight fire that swept through a residential area in Parañaque City, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) told INQUIRER.net.
According to the bureau on Thursday, the fire started at a two-story house in Canaynay Avenue, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
Fire Officer 3 Miyuki Tuto of BFP – Parañaque City said that the mother, Salud Salvador Belmonte, female, senior citizen, and her son, Bryan Salvador Belmonte, male, around 40 years old, died from the fire.
“Wala pong injured, may dalawang patay,” she said over the phone.

Article continues after this advertisementThe BFP said that authorities responded to the incident at 12:36 a.m.
The fire reached the third alarm at 12:54 a.m. and was declared “fire out” at 3:00 a.m.
Around 20 residential houses were burned in the blaze, Tuto noted.
The cause of the fire, on the other hand, remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, according to the Southern Police District (SPD), one of the victims, Salud, owned the house where the fire started.
SPD said that more or less 40 families were affected by the fire, while the damage it brought amounted to around P75,000.
The police district also noted that the houses burned by the fire were made of light materials.
