VP Sara hopes SC petition will put an end to issues on OVP's secret fund

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday said that she hoped that the Supreme Court’s (SC) wisdom will lay to rest the discussion surrounding the controversial budget transfer in 2022.

In a video message sent to the media, Duterte welcomed the newly filed case against her.

“Malugod po naming tinatanggap ang pagkakataong talakayin ang legalidad ng paglilipat ng pondo. Umaasa kami na ang dunong ng Korte Suprema ay magiging daan upang tuluyang matapos ang usapin na ito,” said Duterte.

Duterte, the concurrent Education Secretary, said that she will continuously work towards improving the country’s educational system.

Several legal experts had lodged a petition urging the SC to declare unconstitutional the Office of the Vice President’s transfer of funds amounting to P125 million, which were identified as confidential funds.
