The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) took offense at the rather unscrupulous depiction of its officials and personnel in “Batang Quiapo,” prompting executives of ABS-CBN and top-bill cast of the hit TV series, to apologize.

ABS-CBN chief operating officer for broadcast Cory Vidanes, “Batang Quiapo” director and main character Coco Martin, and Mark Lapid made a courtesy call on Tuesday at BuCor headquarters in New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

“We are here because we want to personally ask for an apology. But we assure you that we have no intention to besmirch or malign anyone,” Martin said.

Bucor officials had cited four episodes in the TV series which allegedly maligned them.
