Alleged hold-upper hurt in Antipolo City shooting
LUCENA CITY — An alleged hold-upper was shot and wounded in an encounter Wednesday with policemen in Antipolo City, Rizal.
In a report Thursday, Sept. 28, the Region 4A police said Jeffrey Montes grabbed the mobile phone of his victim and sped off on Wednesday night.
The victim, who was not identified in the report, immediately reported the robbery to the police station, which dispatched operatives to track down the suspect.
The pursuing cops, accompanied by the victim, spotted Montes in Barangay Bagong Nayon at 9:05 p.m. But instead of surrendering, the suspect fired at the policemen with his .38 revolver but missed his target.
One of the cops shot back and hit the suspect on his left leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
