Southwest monsoon continues to move away from PH
MANILA, Philippines — The weak southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat” is continuously moving away from the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Saturday.
Its weather specialist, Aldczar Aurelio, stated that this southwest monsoon only persists in western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Aurelio also said that no typhoon or low pressure area is currently inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

The weather bureau said that Palawan will experience cloudy skies with chances of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the weak southwest monsoon.
The rest of the country, on the other hand, shall expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
Pagasa also assured that boats can safely sail as no gale warning is raised in the country.
The southwest monsoon will no longer affect the Philippines starting Sunday, the weather bureau added. With this, generally fair weather — still with chances of isolated rains will most likely prevail in the next three days.
(We assume that the southwest monsoon will no longer affect the country tomorrow, so fair weather is expected not only here in Metro Manila, but in the rest of the country as well. However, there will still be chances of thunderstorms that will bring rains.)
