VP Sara Duterte oversees PH as Marcos visits Singapore

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte will be the country’s caretaker while President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is in Singapore, said Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil on Thursday.

When asked by reporters if VP Sara Duterte is the country’s caretaker, Garafil simply responded with “yes.”

The President departed the country on Wednesday and is set to return to the Philippines by Sunday.

“He will be back on Sunday,” she said.

Marcos is in Singapore to give a talk at the 10th Asian Conference. He will also attend the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2023 upon the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
