PH logs 780 COVID-19 infections from Aug. 28 to Sept. 4
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded 780 cases of COVID-19 from August 28 to September 4, slightly lower than the previous week’s 801.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, the total translated to a daily average of 111, three percent lower than the the previous week’s average of 114.
Ten infections — or 1.29 percent of the total cases — were tagged critical or severe.
On the other hand, five deaths were recorded by the DOH, none of which occurred in the past two weeks.
Despite the lower number of cases recorded, the utilization of ICU beds slightly rose from 10.3 to 10.8 percent, while the non-ICU bed utilization rate jumped from 12.7 to 13.9 percent.
