#WalangPasok: Class suspensions for August 31 due to Goring, southwest monsoon
MANILA, Philippines — Classes in most Metro Manila cities were suspended on Thursday, August 31, due to Super Typhoon Goring (international name: Saola) and enhanced southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat.
Work at Manila City Hall and operation of Manila Zoo were likewise suspended on Thursday due to the inclement weather.

As of 7:30 a.m., classes in both public and private schools were canceled in the following areas:
Quezon City (all levels)
Manila City (all levels)
Caloocan City (all levels)
Malabon City (all levels)
Marikina City (all levels)
Navotas City (all levels)
Valenzuela City (all levels)
Parañaque City (all levels)
Pasay City (all levels)
Pasig City (all levels)
Taguig City (all levels)
Las Piñas City (all levels)
Makati City (preschool to senior high school only)
