“In the entire NCR (National Capital Region), we expect with the delivery of these servers and handheld ticketing devices, we can roll out within this quarter by September to all LGUs (local government units) in the NCR,” said MMDA acting chair Don Artes in a press conference.

The handheld ticketing devices have various functions, including printing citation tickets, validating and authenticating driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations, checking demerit points, and verifying if a license or vehicle registration is suspended, canceled, or has an existing alarm.

They can also accept cashless payments for fines, among other features.
