Valenzuela drug suspect busted, P1.7 M shabu seized
MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested on Thursday 36-year old drug suspect and seized more than P1 million worth of suspected crystal meth or “shabu” during a buy-bust operation in Valenzuela City.
The Northern Police District (NPD) said Valenzuela City Police operatives arrested Elmer Sarmiento along Mac Arthur Highway, in Malanday at around 2 a.m.
Confiscated from Sarmiento were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth an estimated P1,700,000 and marked peso bills.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Valenzuela City police and will face a formal complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
