7 nabbed, P4.6 million worth of marijuana seized in Kalinga

7 nabbed, P4.6 million worth of marijuana seized in Kalinga

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested seven individuals and confiscated P4.6 million worth of marijuana during an anti-drug operation in Kalinga, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.

In a report, PDEA identified the suspects as Raymond Nazareno and Sandy Legnes from Bulacan, Rhecel Maribojoc, John Sevilla, Matthew Milgate, Keneth Sum, and Michael David, all from Pampanga.

PDEA-Kalinga provincial office anti-narcotics operatives collared them in Barangay Bulanao, Tabuk City.

Seized from the suspects were 38 kilograms of marijuana bricks amounting to P4,560,000 and 510 grams of marijuana stalks and leaves worth P61,200.

The items were loaded in a van.

The arrested individuals are detained at the Tabuk City municipal police station.

They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
