MANILA, Philippines— Two companies based in the Clark Special Economic Zone  (CSEZ ) on Tuesday vehemently denied involvement in the so-called  “love scam” and alleged trafficking of foreign nationals in the country.

A “licensed locator” inside the CSEZ, Sunvalley Clark Hub Corporation (SVCHC), explained that it is in the business of leasing office spaces and dormitories.

“SVCHC, as a real estate company, is not in any way connected or involved in operating online gaming or call center services,”  it said in a statement.

SVCHC also explained that the Colorful and Leap Group, a cyber marketing firm, is one of the sub-lessees of CGC Technologies, Inc.

“The lease agreement between SVCHC and CGC is duly registered with Clark Development Corporation,”  SVCHC also  pointed out.

For  its part,  CGC said it “merely subleased its offices to Colorful and Leap Group, which originally presented itself as a gaming service provider.”

Authorities recently rescued hundreds of foreign and  Filipino workers after they raided the cyber marketing firm for its alleged link to human trafficking and the sale of questionable cryptocurrencies.

This and other cyber fraud operations in the country are now the subjects of an investigation by a joint panel in the Senate led by opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros.
