3 alleged big-time drug traffickers yield P3.1M 'shabu' in Calamba City busts

LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested three suspected big-time traffickers in separate buy-bust operations in Calamba City, Laguna on Saturday (May 20) and seized more than P3.1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth).

A report from Police Region 4A on Sunday showed that Roni Libao, 25, and his younger brother, Christian, 22, were collared at around 6:12 p.m. after they sold P5,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Turbina.

Authorities seized from the suspects eight plastic sachets of meth weighing 405 grams with an estimated street value of P2,754,000.

The same team of anti-narcotics operatives also busted Jayson Muyna in another sting operation in Barangay Halang at around 1:22 p.m.

The police found Muyna in possession of four sachets of meth weighing 53.75 grams with a street value of P365,500.

The operatives also confiscated two mobile phones from the arrested suspects containing records of their supposed drug transactions.

Police were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.

The report tagged the three suspects as included on the drug watch list as “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug scene.

The suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
