Man nabbed in QC for molesting granddaughter

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested a 50-year-old man for molesting his 17-year-old granddaughter in Quezon City, the police said on Thursday.
In a report, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Batasan Police Station personnel nabbed the suspect at the victim’s home in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City, on May 17, 2023.
According to QCPD, the sexual assault incident occurred following the suspect’s arrival at the victim’s home from abroad.
On Wednesday morning, police said the suspect entered the victim’s room and molested her.
The victim informed her grandmother what happened.
The elder woman sought the assistance of police station and reported about the crime committed by her brother-in-law.
The suspect is now under police custody.
He will be charged with violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act at the city prosecutor’s office.
