Naia Terminal 3 electrical audit underway after Labor Day power outage
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Friday said that it has begun its electrical audit of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3, which was hit by a power outage on Labor Day.
In a statement, MIAA officer-in-charge Bryan Co said that the audit is being conducted with Meralco and is expected to be completed in three weeks.
Co said that based on the audit’s outcome, MIAA will asses which of its equipment need to be upgraded, rehabilitated or purchased to make Terminal 3’s power system “reliable and resilient.”
“Yes, kailangan naming bumili or mag lease ng additional generators and we are discussing with stakeholders and that’s the time na made-termine kung magkano ang kailangang budget,” said Co.
