COVID-19 positivity nationwide rises to 15.9% — OCTA Research
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate nationwide is now at 15.9 percent, OCTA Research Fellow Guido David said on Tuesday.
This is a slight increase from the 15.2 percent positivity rate on April 20.

Citing data from the Department of Health (DOH), David said that based on the 843 new cases on Tuesday, there is a “15.9 [percent] nationwide positivity rate.”
Article continues after this advertisementDavid said that projected new cases on Wednesday will be from 700 to 900.
Article continues after this advertisementIn a different Twitter post, David said that Metro Manila’s COVID-19 positivity rate is at 18.8 percent.
According to the DOH’s latest data, there are currently 7,037 active COVID-19 cases nationwide.
The Philippines has logged a total of 4,095,468, COVID-19 cases, 4,021,987 recoveries and 66,444 deaths.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 hospital bed occupancy rate is at 17.2 percent (4,207 hospital beds occupied).
Due to the steady increase in COVID-19 infections since March, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has mulled imposing mandatory face masks in the country.
