MANILA, Philippines — Maynilad Water Services Inc. over the weekend announced that parts of Metro Manila and Cavite will face water supply interruptions from April 16 to 23.

“Our customers in portions of Bacoor City, Imus City, Las Pinas City, Muntinlupa City, Paranaque City and Pasay City will have daily water service interruption from April 16, 2023 until April 22, 2023 and April 23, 2023, as we complete the ongoing intensified cleaning of filters at the Putatan Water Treatment Plants,” said Maynilad in an advisory on Saturday.

Maynilad said the turbidity level of raw water in Laguna Lake had already begun decreasing but the cleaning of filters was taking longer than expected.

“Due to this, we have to extend our maintenance activities at the plants. Normal operations will be restored once the cleaning of the filters is completed,” Maynilad added.

Maynilad  urged affected customers to store enough water supply and  to let the water flow out briefly until it clears, once water supply services resumes.

Mobile water tankers have also been deployed to affected areas while stationary water tanks have already been installed in several areas.
