Biker dies in Antipolo City road mishap

Police anti-narcotics operatives seized over P3 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from two alleged “high-value” targets in the government’s illegal drug war in Antipolo City, Rizal province early Monday, March 27.

LUCENA CITY – A cyclist died in a road accident in Antipolo City, Rizal early Sunday, according to the local police.

A spot report from the Region 4A police said bicycle rider John Paul Jaurigue was accidentally hit by a car driven by Oscar Caluza in Barangay (village) Dalig at around 12:20 a.m.

The victim was taken to the nearest hospital but died along the way.

Caluza tried to escape but was chased and cornered by other motorists who turned him over to the police.

He was placed under police custody and will face a formal complaint.
