THE Department of Tourism (DOT) has identified Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental and Fort San Pedro in Cebu City as among the destinations to visit in the country to promote the “Lakbay Jose Rizal @ 150 Heritage Trail.”

In line with the 150th birth anniversary of the national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the Dumaguete City government invited foreign and local tourists to visit and rediscover the sites that once became part of Rizal’s life.

City Tourism officer Andrey Tumulak said Rizal had visited Dumaguete City on board his boat SS España. Rizal then met with Negros Island Governor Regal and a classmate Herrero Regidor.
