Council to Rama: Give us list first before giving aid
CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama should abide by the City Council’s resolution requesting him to give a list of beneficiaries of the P10,000 livelihood assistance for displaced families before release of the funds.
City Councilor Margot Osmeña said the City Council was just reminding Rama to follow the resolution approved last month.
Osmeña said refusal to follow would amount to “disrespect.”
“What are resolutions for if these are not followed? What’s the point of passing a resolution if it will not be respected?” she asked.
The reminder came after Rama last Tuesday led the distribution of the P10,000 aid to 30 Mahiga Creek residents, who were displaced from last year’s clearing operations of the creek side shanties.
Rama said the amount was part of the P10 million livelihood assistance to affected families.

“Let the DSWS handle it because I was not the one who scheduled it. I was only attending,” he said. /Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
