2 drug pushers fall in Batangas City; P272,000 shabu seized

2 teenagers nabbed in Batangas marijuana buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were busted early Thursday, Feb. 16, in Batangas City and yielded more than P272,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth), police said.

Rey Factor, classified as a “high-value” target in the government’s campaign against the illegal drug trade, was collared around 2 a.m. by  members of the city drug enforcement unit, after he sold P100,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Bolbok, the Batangas police reported.

Factor yielded seven sachets of shabu weighing 35 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs (DDB) Board value of P238,000.

Authorities are tracking the source of the illegal drugs.

Local police also arrested at 1:07 a.m. Mario Ibon, 50, in Barangay Libjo. He was found in possession of two sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P34,500.

Police also found Ibon carrying 10.10 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,111.

The suspects were detained and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
