Abandoned car in Parañaque yields over P183 million worth of shabu
MANILA, Philippines — More than P183 million worth of crystal meth, locally referred to as shabu, were found in an abandoned car in Parañaque City, said the police.
The Southern Police District (SPD) in a report on Thursday said it had retrieved some 27 kilos of crystal meth worth around P183.6 million from a red Toyota Innova along Quirino Avenue corner M. Delos Santos Street in Barangay Tambo.
Barangay tanod (officer) Mark Espinosa first took notice of the abandoned vehicle late Wednesday afternoon. But he only sought police assistance to inspect the car at around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, according to the SPD.
“Upon initial inspection, the police officers noted that all doors are closed but unlocked. All outside features of the said vehicle were intact. All the windows and windshield are semi tainted but still visible inside, and no sign of contraband was seen inside the vehicle,” it said.
Police said among the things seized from the vehicle were:
