Mayor to present Bacolod potentials during Japan trip with BBM

Benitez's voter registration transfer to Bacolod City approved

BACOLOD CITY — Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez of this city said he would present Bacolod’s potential for tourism, manufacturing, and information technology when he joins President Marcos during his official working visit to Japan from Feb. 8 to 12.

“I will be part of the official delegation to Japan,” Benitez said in a press conference on Monday, Feb. 6.

Just like when he joined the President in his trip to China, the mayor said he also hoped to find investors and investments for this city during the Japan visit to create more employment.

Benitez said his visit to China was very fruitful because investors, who manufacture electric service vehicles, are in Bacolod now doing their due diligence.

They proposed to put up a factory in this city that will manufacture electric vehicles focused on public and logistical transportation.

Benitez also said the Marcos administration is supporting the construction of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridges.

Several companies expressed interest in funding the bridges during the President’s visit to China, said Benitez.

“It is just a matter of deciding which company,” he said.

Benitez said he had high confidence the bridge construction would be realized.
